“Shouldn’t we be showing kindness every day?” A question posted to my facebook page in the middle of a passionate pursuit our family was on to fill 12 Days with Random Acts of Kindness.
Our family chose to turn giving and kindness into a celebration.. and we set our hearts on fire with a vision of spreading the light of Jesus. What an amazing celebration this turned out to be!
Surely, we are to be practicing kindness daily and giving to others when we can, but, I have to say -when we are more INTENTIONAL and focus an entire week to celebrating with others - it is contagious and you just can’t stop.
We became more creative, seeing more opportunities and claiming the moments that we might have overlooked or missed before.
When we teach our children to think beyond themselves and share with others, we are raising a new generation of light-bearers.
Our 12 Days Filled With Acts of Kindness and Giving caught on in our community and spread like wild fire. Hundreds of people from across the country were following us on facebook, we were in the newspaper and our home became a celebration center with stories each night around the table.
The spirit of giving and kindness in a celebration setting is heart changing, and can change the patterns of your days to come.
