For a few years I’ve been relying heavily on a cute purple copy of The Message, a bible small enough to tuck in my purse.
(Okay, fine, my diaper bag.)
Recently B&H asked me if I would be interested in a copy of their new study bible for women and I said yes on a whim.
I opened up the soft leather cover and decided to start in Proverbs (here’s the story on that) and I remembered just how much I love study bibles. See, I am not a biblical scholar. My best friend went to seminary. Scratch that, her husband went to seminary and then she voluntarily, as in OF HER OWN ACCORD, sat in a bunch of his super intense biblical classes to learn more about the Bible. After she had already graduated from college with a degree. Basically when I want to know something about the Bible, I call her.
(She is probably really happy that I own a study Bible now.)
This study Bible? It is making me want to read the Bible. It is set up beautifully. The margins are rich with information that I am finding so helpful in really understanding the meaning behind the scriptures. Little notes of historical significance bring so much life to the stories in these pages. Each book has an introduction that gives a guideline for studying it and scattered through are call-outs specifically meant to discuss the passages of scripture as they pertain to biblical womanhood. It even has word studies that examine the Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek words. My BFF would love that.
B&H sent me two of these bibles, one for me to pass on to a friend and I decided that I would love for one of y’all to be that friend, so this this can bless you in the same way that it has blessed me.

I would love to win this giveaway as I struggle with finding a way to study the Bible adequately. Having 5 children - 12 and under - makes time of essence and I feel this would maximize that for me.

Would love a study bible copy. I’ve always considered myself a Christian, but am just becoming acquainted with the Word for the first time now - apps and daily devotionals are helping to break it up in easier to digest chunks, but I know I need to sit down with the book itself and hopefully a study version would make it a little easier to understand and maybe less daunting.

I have almost completed my very first bible study (James Mercy Triumps) and it has opened not only my eyes but also my heart. I only wish I would’ve had the courage to go sooner. I do have a very large study bible but honestly I find it rather confusing at times and still leaving me with questions. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one I can’t wait to look for it next time I’m in town.
