“I don’t want anything for Mother’s Day” I tell my husband. And I mean it.
And then a few hours later I take it back.
(This is shocking to exactly no one.)
“I take it back. I want you to help Scarlette make me a card” I say.
Inside a canvas covered box on my bookshelf sits a stack of cards, all bound together with rubber bands and bits of string and spanning the thirty some years of my life. I keep the ones that have messages penned inside for the days I feel like reminiscing.
(Or possibly because of my hoarding tendencies. But reminiscing sounds much more romantic so let’s go with that.)
And this year I want to add one with poor penmenship in loopy crayon scrawled across the front to the very top of my stack.
I waited a long time to celebrate Mother’s Day by being the receiver of a card.
She who gave her birth is joyful.
And if you are the giver of a card, I created this matching art print set for you based on one of my favorite Bible verses, Proverbs 23:25.
You can print out an 8×10 print to frame or a foldable 5×7 card to give, or both!
Happy Mother’s Day!
