Do you feel uncertain about what or how to pray for your daughter? You’re not alone!
Praying for our daughters can seem overwhelming but it doesn’t have to be. I wrote Praying for Girls for moms like me and you who want to pray with confidence and boldness but just aren’t always sure what or how to pray.
Praying for Girls will equip moms to
- identify and understand five key areas of their daughters’ lives
- apply biblical truth to challenges and obstacles their daughters will encounter
- pray with boldness and confidence using Scripture as the solid foundation for their prayers
- to engage their daughters in understanding and applying biblical truth to their own lives
Maybe you’re wondering why it’s important that we pray Scripture for our daughters? After years of praying this way and sharing it with other moms, I’ve discovered three key benefits to praying God’s Word for our girls.
Praying Scripture offers us a foundation for our prayers, aligning them with the revealed heart and purposes of God.
Praying Scripture helps us submit our own desires for our daughters to the far greater desires the Lord has for them.
Praying Scripture guides us to pray over areas we may otherwise not consider or recognize.
Several of the Mothers of Daughters writers read and endorsed this book. Here’s what they had to say:
“I want my girls to be world changers. I want them to be strong. I also want them to be grace-filled seekers of truth. Meanwhile, the world is doing everything it can to claim their hearts. Teri Lynne understands that praying for our girls is never a waste of time. She reminds us in her sweet Southern style that it might be the most important part of our day.” — Stacey Thacker
“Teri Lynne has crafted a treasure! This is not the kind of book you read once and put away. This is a book you take your time with and read over and over again. You let tears fall on the pages and journal through the margins until God’s truth about our daughters becomes your own.” — Wynter Pitts
“As a mother to seven daughters, it is a blessing to have such a relevant parenting resource. Praying for Girls spans the topics and heart matters that every girl faces as she grows, encouraging moms to pray over their daughters and help them through their journeys.” — September McCarthy
I’m so happy that Praying for Girls: Asking God for the Things They Need Most is now available! And because this community is so precious to me, I’m thrilled to give a copy to one of the Mothers of Daughters readers.

I have 2 daughters, one is 5 and the other is 2. I love watching them grow up and learn things, and I love the fact that they teach me something new on a regular basis as well.
I am blessed by my two daughters ages 14 and 7! I love how my oldest shares her love of adopting a son from Africa in her future and how my 7 year old journals frequently about the love she has for Jesus!
What is great is that she loves to talk to me and ask me the serious questions-I just pray it stays that way throughout the teenage years!
Congratulations! Just what we need to pray prayers for just what our girls need! Thank you so much for empowering moms!
I am a mom to 2 little girls. What I love most is their compassion for anyone and everyone. The minute they meet someone they feel like they are best friends with them. The are still at the age where they see past all the things the world sees as someone being “different”. Being a mother of daughters is so hard…but I also have 2 built in little side kicks and friends. We won’t always be friends, but when they are old enough to have kids of their own, I’m so looking forward to that relationship with them too <3
I always thought we’d have all boys, but we LOVE having daughters! They’re 2 1/2 and almost-6. Watching their relationship develop with each other is one of my favorite things. It’s bittersweet seeing my babies grow up, but each stage is better than the last one. Being their mom is humbling and challenging and wonderful!
I love how my daughter and I can both look back through my prayer journal and see my desperate prayers for her during a dark time and see how God moved through out it all. We both learned that prayer is a POWERFUL thing and to never stop praying and to always seek His face in all we do.
I have only one 16 (almost 17) daughter and our relationship took a major turn for the better a couple of years ago. That was after I had begun to pray for her earnestly. She has also been the path to discipling many of her friends in a life group. It’s been such a blessing to be able to plant seeds in their lives and to better support them in prayer. Our girls need to know they are loved just as they are and to trust God and not themselves
