It happened last week.
I now have 3 teenage girls living at my house.
Looking back one truth I can pass along is I never regret my 1-1 time with them.
I always feel blessed when I get to be WITH my girls.
More and more as they begin to fly on their own that is a little harder to plan.
This is why I couldn’t be more excited to share with you a brand new resources to help you get in front of the teen years. My friend Courtney DeFeo has a brand new experience for Moms & Tweens called Treasured.
Think of Treasured as a jump start to getting the conversation started. Think of Treasured as a trusted friend who will help you navigate the topics you know you need to discuss but have NO EARTHLY idea how to do it and be somewhat cool about it in the process. Here is what I love:
Courtney is a girl mom.
Courtney is a cheerleader for moms.
Courtney has a passion to treat our girls like the treasures they are IN Christ.
How do I know this? Well, Courtney is my dear friend. She lived across town from me until she moved to Texas a couple of years ago (still mourning that). Courtney is the kind of friend who treasured our friendship even with her crazy busy life. Let me share one example with you. One day I was feeling more than a little overwhelmed as a stay-at-home-working mom. My book had released into the world and I was nervous and proud but mostly nervous. My girls were excited but didn’t quite get the hoopla either. I was sitting at my kitchen table mid-morning still in my pj’s when I heard a knock at the door. Courtney swept in with Starbucks, treats, flowers, and gifts for my girls. Then she sat down with my girls and colored with them. She told them how proud they should be of their mama. She hugged me and told me she was proud of me too.
I felt treasured that day.
(Because that is who Courtney is.)
You can use Treasured 1-1 with your girl or you can gather a group of moms and daughters. (I secretly think your girl will LOVE the latter and you will too.) After years of working on this amazing resource, Courtney has partnered with Parent Cue. Parent Cue equips parents to engage with their families and have conversations about things that matter. Parent Cue is a part of The reThink Group, which helps churches partner with families to impact the next generation.
Follow Courtney here. She has a podcast, blog, and all the Socials.
Cheering you on WILDLY mom, as you treasure your girl.
