“Sometimes people call me crazy, the way I act with my kids.
“These girls don’t just need someone telling them what to do,” I say. “They need a mom who will crawl right into their lives and hang with them there.”
And so I join them in dancing on the stage even though last I did that pegging jeans was the “in” thing. And I do toe touches off the high dive. And I join in “Crack the Egg” on the trampoline. And I actually am the wheelbarrow in the field trip race.
And we laugh until our sides hurt.
And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Because in this crazy fun we are building bridges that will bond us for a lifetime.”
